Ádám Breier's portrait film from 2018 about László Krasznahorkai, the recipient of The Nobel Prize in Literature 2025.

After the publication of his new novel, Baron Wenckheim's Homecoming, László Krasznahorkai visits his hometown, Gyula. While visiting places and people he has not seen for a long time, the author invites us to recall the past, and in the process it becomes clear how Krasznahorkai's art and real life are connected.

"László Krasznahorkai is the 'contemporary master of the apocalypse' as Susan Sontag described him. We discussed what I could show of him if I were to make a portrait film. Whatever I asked, his answer was no. That is how this film has begun."
Adam Breier, director.
